My Alligator Encounter!!!

Ahhhhhhh ! !! !!! Gator ! !!! !!!! !!!!

I put my paw in the alligator’s mouth!

Well………. not really……….. 😉

Duffy the Disney Bear says hello to the Alligator!
Ouch! You got some pretty sharp teeth Mr. Alligator!

This is my first alligator. I didn’t know what animal it was when I saw the photograph on the wall at the gallery. I just saw his happy smile and since I’m a very beary curious bear I wanted to make friends with him and learn more about him.

Well, really… what it is … is….. is that I get bored when the humans start gibber gabbering at each other.

I need action! Action with a capital 'A'.

So while the humans were trying to decide if this was an alligator or a crocodile, I just went up and said…….

“Hell’lo”

The alligator didn’t say much.

...... or maybe he was just whispering. So I put my ear closer to his mouth.

Duffy put his ear close to the gator's mouth to hear what the gator had to say.
What was that Mr. Alligator?

…Hummmm…??? Now that I think of it… he didn’t get to say anything at all before I was quickly taken away from him.

Hey! The alligator was just about to tell me something!

(I learned later that pictures on the wall don’t normally talk like they can at #Disney and it isn't polite to touch artwork on the wall.)

Anyways, when I got home, I googled alligators and crocodiles. (Googling is the easiest way to teach humans what they don’t know) …….and found this neat link. Alligator vs Crocodile.

I learned that alligators can hold their breath for up to an hour under water! …and they like to swallow their food whole even though they have all those sharp teeth.

If I went underwater I would drown because I’m filled with stuffing.

Some humans say that if you see a alligator, you should run in a zig-zag. … or was that zag-zig? Nope, it was zig-zag. Either way, zig-zag or zag-zig – Don’t do it!

That’s like NOT right at all!

The alligator will catch you and swallow you whole! That’s because the alligator’s eyes are on the side of his head. So he’ll see your zigging and zagging…… …or, …….. zagging and zigging…. You got to run straight a head and as fast as you can! And that’s the story of my very beary first ever Alligator Encounter!

Bearily yours,

Duffy Bear
